Oxford Kitchen Yarns will be at St Andrews School Craft Fair (on London Road, next to Co-op Supermarket) this sunday (4th Dec) from 11am-3pm. There will be an entrance fee on the door but it’ll only be something like 50p, I would guess.

The shop’s new layout looks great! I love the rainbowing of the supplies.

We could play spot the OxfordKitchenYarns – there is some sock yarn in there. Yay!

FB got a bit attached to the bear and carried him around the shop for a while. Tempting. Very tempting. :)

Jo at Darn it and Stitch has been a huge supporter of OxfordKitchenYarns – it’s hard to put into words how much this has helped my confidence, though a simple place to start would be to say that it has helped A LOT.

It’s a wonderful place, and if you’re ever in Oxford you really should go check it out. (I am unable to leave the shop without buying something – even when I’m just delivering yarn. (On saturday it was velvet chartruse ric rac and knicker elastic in mauve and wine. Score!)

Jo of Darn It and Stitch knows how to put together a good looking shop! I’m so impressed with how the OKY yarns look.

Taking photos of shop windows is tricky – you’ll just have to take my word for it that there is some OKY yarn in the window. However it does give you the oppertunity to see how big the bump has got. Yes. Huge.

Anyway if you’re in Oxford and you want to see OKY yarns in the flesh, this is the place to go. Which makes me very excited because it’s a wonderful shop.

We back from the Ravelry day, and we had alot of fun. As you can see, it was really wet, but regardless, it was a great chance to catch up with friends, and do some shopping.

Having FB with me, I didn’t sign up for any of the classes, and though I had a ticket for Meg Swansen’s talk, I only stayed for the first 15-20 minutes because FB was starting to wriggle.  I realised that I would be better off getting my shopping done while the stalls were quiet and the rain had settled down a bit.

Can you see a theme? It wasn’t really intentional. ;)

I bought Wee Woolly Toppers by Woolly Wormhead, Airedale Aran in Plum and Petrol by Texere Yarns, Alpaca/Silk Fibre in Stormclouds by KraftyKoala, UK Merino Fibre by Artists Palette Yarns, and Merino/Silk Laceweight in Bramble by Old Maiden Aunt (which – as you can see is already balled up and on the needles! I’m knitting the Japanese Feather and Fan shawl by Izzysknits.)

I’m loving my sewing at the moment*, but I’m also itching to do some more spinning. I’ve promised myself that July is spinning month (in the main), since Tour de Fleece will be running, and regardless, there will be daily Tour footage to watch on ITV4 after FB has gone to bed, which is prime spinning time.

That said, I’m sure this fibre will be spun before then. ;) I’m thinking fine, and with 200g between the two, enough to make the boy something in the autumn when the weather turns cooler.

*I’m making the Expandable Pack It In Tote by U-Handbag, which is quite a big project, but I’m hoping will be finished and ready to show off soon. :)

Tomorrow FB and I are off to Coventry for the UK Ravelry Day*.
